Cyber security legislation

We know protecting your clients’ data is always top of mind. Under a new law introduced in June, businesses in areas such as finance and telecommunications “would be required to report cyber attacks to the federal government.” According to Public Safety MInister Marco Mendicino, the law aims to “help both the public and private sectors better protect themselves against cyberattacks.”

At MJR, we are constantly monitoring and testing for threats. MJR is both SOC1 and SOC2 certified. Annual SOC certification outlines specific requirements for managing customer data. It focuses heavily on compliance, security, access, backup and recovery, computer operations and facility infrastructure. It is recognized by the compliance departments of all of the larger clientele with whom we work.
